I can write pages and pages on this as I feel there is so much to say on this topic. I have taken the utmost care to make each saree look special and the kind of blouse I have designed or made has alot to contribute to the entire look.
I would talk about my favourites over here and you can check out the accompanying pictures to see what I am talking about.
The chiffon sarees would look best with a sphagetti type short length embroidered blouse or a strappy sequins blouse.
The bandhni print would look best with a traditional half sleeve blouse or a three-fourth matching blouse.
The Bengali red and white benarasi would look best with a puff sleeve blouse and the quintessential benarasi would look best with a half sleeve wide neck blouse to accommodate the heavy jewellery that girls wear with the benarasi saree.
The Georgette multi printed saree would look best with a monotone tied up blouse or an embroidered tied up or halter-neck blouse. The Georgette saree is usually transparent so the darker the shade of the blouse, the more beautiful the saree looks on camera.
I also love wearing the full sleeve blouse with a bracelet on both hands as their would not be much place for bangles. In fact I purchased 4 of these multicolour silk embroidered blouse pieces from Malad and made four full sleeve blouse pieces first. The neck designs are all different as you can see. Now I had to buy some sarees to go with the multicolour blouse pieces. All the four pieces are my favourite so I had to buy some really nice looking sarees to match them in style. Since the blouse pieces were multicolour and embroidered, I opted for single color sarees with a good border. I wore the saree in style with a kamarband and didn’t go for the usual way of carrying the saree. So you see these are some of the beautiful colorful sarees in my wardrobe and I have worn them with the different blouse pieces I bought separately.
Online ready made blouses are not going to fit you so for the girl who has good fashion sense, just get your blouse tailored to your liking always.
The kanjivaram silk sarees and other traditional sarees have their blouse pieces woven into the saree itself so the more you stick to the conventional matching half sleeve blouse piece, the prettier the saree looks.
Most of the sarees you find online will have their own blouse piece but I personally love to experiment when it comes to the blouse piece and the styling of it.
A must styling tip- whenever you are wearing a corset- style blouse or a halter neck or a sphagetti style bralette blouse always go for the padded version as the overall look would always look classier on camera. Style the deep neck with a bright neck piece and jhumkas and see how pretty you would look on camera.
