For starters, I don’t have a jewellery box, I have a jewellery cupboard! As I love colorful clothes, it is but obvious that I would love jewellery with a dash of color in it. I have a huge collection of sarees so I have matching or contrasting jewellery to go with them. I love wearing jewellery that would cover alot of my neck and enhance the appeal of the saree or suit. I have posted alot of pictures of my heavy jewellery sets. While wearing a lehenga I often wear costume jewellery which I find very attractive and colorful. There are jewellery pieces called karbandh, nathni and maang tika and I have posted pictures where you can see how and when I have worn them. A kamarbandh would look very glamorous on a chiffon saree and a nathni would compliment a bridal Benarasi saree to the T.
I have alot of jhumkas and heavy earrings and I wear them exclusively with sarees without any other accessory. The color coordination is the most important part as monotone color jewellery doesn’t always go with a similar matching color saree. Sometimes, alot of color or a contrasting color jewellery does the trick.
As you can see in my pictures, I wear lots of bangles with my sarees and salwar. The colors are always coordinated and I mostly buy my bangles online from Flipkart or Amazon. An extremely feminine and beautiful ornament- the bangle is always necessary to complete the traditional saree look, no matter what type of saree you are wearing!
