The festival of Diwali spans for over three days for me. I celebrate Laxmi puja, Choti Diwali and Badi Diwali. With the magnanimous display of lights outside, it is but natural that you feel like dressing up to the occasion. I love wearing Indian wear for all festivals as I feel the attire elevates the persona to a different level altogether!
I just love the fact that festivals in India are celebrated in a wholesome manner and I just go all the way out to be the quintessential tradition-loving Indian woman who loves being a part of everything associated with festivals.
I wore a red and green bandhni saree on the occasion of Choti Diwali, replete with a matching choker and bangles. I left my hair open as it accentuated the overall look. The saree is from Myntra and the neckpiece is from Flipkart. The reference images are attached below.
Badi Diwali was extremely special as we had a lot of guests at home. I wore a black and gold lehenga with heavy jewellery and just loved posing with the tree candle in my hand! Crackers, sweets, fun, frolic and laughter- all were in gigantic proportion that day. I purchased this lehenga material from ghatkopar market, mumbai.
We do lakshmi puja at home so I chose a saree for the occasion. The Lehariya saree is a beautiful, soft, light weight saree that is so apt to wear at any family function where you have to do some house work as well. I chose my favourite combination- blue and pink and you can see my pictures. The colorful jewellery and bangles just add vibrance to the look! I have purchased this saree from nyka fashion and the reference image is attached below.
